When Graham and Anne Ferguson both lost their jobs (his in the pharmaceutical industry and hers in IT support and training) at the start of the recession in 2009, they decided to turn their passion for diving into a business. They wanted to share with others the opportunity to experience the marine environment that had been captivating them for twenty years. Knowing it was a bold move, they made their plans, set up OceanAddicts, bought Embarr and sailed her back from England in 2010. They didn’t know how long their adventure would last — and here they are still welcoming dive tourists from Ireland and abroad over a decade later. Introducing people to the underwater world, and witnessing their sense of wonder is still as gratifying to them now as when they first began giving PADI training. They’ve met some amazing, inspiring people and made a lot of new friends along the way.
