PADI Open Water Diver Training

The PADI Open Water Diver course with OCEANADDICTS

The PADI Openwater Diver course will teach you how to scuba dive as an independent diver with a buddy to a depth of 18 metres. PADI’s (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) certifications are recognized worldwide and this course will open the door to a wonderful new world of undersea adventures here in Ireland and abroad.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three parts

Knowledge Development (online, home study or in a classroom ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving,

Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills

Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

If you’ve participated in a Discover Scuba Diving experience, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification.


To enrol in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be: 12 years or older (PADI eLearning requires a minimum age of 13 years due to international internet laws). Minimum age for Oceanaddicts Open Water course is 14 years.

The Fun Part

The fun part about this course is…well, it’s all fun.  During the confined water section of the course you will learn the skills you need to make diving easy and fun. You will do this in a controled environment. Following on from this you will complete four dives at some of Oceanaddicts local dive sites with your instructor. The course takes 4 to 5 days to complete.



What is included in the Course

All the equipment you will need for the course is included and will be chosen by your OCEANADDICTS Instructor to ensure your comfort throughout the course. All tuition is included.
