Crayfish at Ling Rocks

The crayfish is larger than the lobster, it has long antennae and are reddish in colour,  They lack large pincers but have small hook-like claws their body is covered in spines. They are found on open exposed rock faces and rocky seabed. While they were a widespread species their numbers have been severely depleted on most coasts by tangle net fishing.

While diving in Ireland divers will see them on offshore sites like the Ling Rocks in South Cork
